Michael McAuley

Independent adviser

Michael was educated in Montreal, London and Paris. He started practice in 1983 as a Quebec advocate. Since 1998, Michael has practiced in Bermuda (Appleby) and Guernsey (Carey Olsen) and taught at Louisiana State University. He specializes in contentious and non-contentious trust and inheritance matters and is an independent adviser based in Montreal. Michael authored the Bermuda chapter in International Trust Laws, the Bermuda chapter in International Succession and the Quebec chapter in Mixed Jurisdictions Worldwide. His most recent publication is: "Travelling advisers, settlors and trusts in the age of autonomy", The International Family Offices Journal (March 2018).
