Bill was admitted to practice as a lawyer in 1992. He holds a Master of Laws.Bill's involvement in human rights is longstanding. He was awarded the
Australian Human Rights Commission Law Award in 2008 for his work in promoting and advancing human rights in Australia through the practice of law.
Bill was made an Outstanding Alumni of James Cook University in 2012. Bill has represented the National Association of Community Legal Centres
(Australia) five times before the United Nations in New York in debates around a new Convention on the Rights of Older Persons.
